How to replace a compressor

*OIL REFILL Different procedures apply to NEW and REMAN com- pressor when refilling oil, ensure you are following the right one: Only for NEW • New compressors can be installed without adding any oil REMAN Warning: Valeo remanufactured compressors are deli- vered with a negligible amount of oil • Drain the oil • Refill the compressor with fresh oil. At least with 50% of the nominal total oil amount. Always turn compressor shaft (via clutch disc) 10-15 times for lubricant distribution and place compressor upside down (clutch down) for 3 minutes to allow for lubrication of shaft seal.

**FLUSHING Flushing is the most essential part of the replacement in case of compressor failure or front crash, before installing a new compressor. Valeo imposes to follow a strict flushing operation to benefit from full warranty conditions. The following components cannot be flushed and have to be replaced: •Accumulator/receiver dryer • Orifice tube After verification if there is any presence of iron fi- lings, replace this part: • Expansion valve The compressor should not be flushed under any cir- cumstances . Methods •A/C station equipped with a flushing kit, or • Independent flushing kit • Pressured nitrogen

VALEO WARRANTY CANNOT BE APPLIED IF A CORRECT FLUSHING WAS NOT PERFORMED.
