On VARIABLE capacity compressors the suction level can be adapted depending on the thermal needs: g To provide the appropriate comfort g To consume the optimum energy and reduce fuel consumption The suction pressure level is set to the appropriate level and limited to 3 bars.

On FIXED capacity compressors the suction level can NOT be adapted. It is mandatory to monitor the evaporator temperature and stop the compressor immediately before freezing occurs; this is the role of the evaporator sensor, the compressor is then disabled via the electromagnetic clutch pulley.
