Preventative maintenance Recommendations for Concentric Slave Cylinder

Diagnosis ò ò Wrong connections cause leakage resulting in inability to bleed the hydraulic system and non- functioning C.S.C.. Attention Ɂ Ɂ Ensure that the connections to the hydraulic system are correct.

Diagnosis ò ò Gearbox oil will leak past the external seal resulting in swelling of C.S.C. internal seals and failure. Attention Ɂ Ɂ Ensure that the external seal of the C.S.C. (when present) is not damaged when the C.S.C. is moved over the gearbox input shaft.

Diagnosis ò ò Uneven mounting causes C.S.C's sleeve to move backwards resulting in leakage of hydraulic fluid and failure. Attention Ɂ Ɂ Ensure that the C.S.C. mounting surface is flat with the gearbox receiving surface. Ensure that the bolts are “finger tight” before tightening to the correct torque as specified by the vehicle's manufacturer.

Diagnosis ò ò C.S.C. sleeve will foul on the clutch disc spline causing failure. Attention Ɂ Ɂ Ensure that the clutch plate is mounted the correct way round to the vehicle's manufacturers specifications.
