VS - Electrical Systems From Stop-Start to Hybridization
For reflex start features The reflex start is the ability to re-engage a start phase even if the engine in the process of stopping, this basically happens when a driver unexpectedly changes his mind and decides to reaccelerate before the vehicle has stopped (restart on the move). In Micro-Hybrid architectures the best in class technical option is the belt-driven machine. For stalling comfort During a conventional engine-stop event, some vibrations occurs at the very end of the stop cycle, these vibrations are transmitted by crankshaft rotational variations and in particular by a final counter rotation related to the conversion between reciprocating motion and rotational motion. Valeo StARS belt drive system is able to impose a braking force to the crankshaft and avoid this final vibration, significantly enhancing the driver Stop- Start comfort experience! The resistive torque varies with OEM’s applications, in order to fit to the numerous demands the stalling torque function is configured in some digital mapping tables for an optimized comfort.
