• Brake fluid is transmitting the mechanical effort applied by the pedal to the calipers • Brake fluid has towork under high pressures and over a wide temperature range Why to change the brake fluid? Moisture absorption: while DOT Brake fluid is in a closed brake system, it remains in contact with air. With time, the moisture naturally contained in the air contaminates the brake fluid integrity. > EVERY YEAR THE LIQUID ABSORBS BETWEEN 2 AND 4% OF MOISTURE. As a consequence, water in brake system leads to: • A decrease in capacities of lubrication and protection against corrosion • The boiling point is getting lower When the brakes are too often solicited, the boiling point might be exceeded. Gas bubbles are produced in the brake cylinders and calipers (Vapor lock), jeopardizing braking performances.

Valeo recommends to flush and replace the brake fluid periodically every 2 years. DOT brake fluid is NOT MISCIBLE with Hydraulic Mineral Fluid
