A fast, smooth and flexible drive For a quick engine start With Valeo Starter Alternator Reversible System there is no time-lag for engaging a starter pinion in the engine flywheel ring gear, the double tensioner belt-drive puts in motion the crankshaft in about 200 msec and starts the engine in less than 400 msec.

Valeo StARS belt drive exhibits some more advantages than Micro-Hybrid applications using starter solutions, namely cranking time, NVH performances, reflex-start and engine stalling help.
