The reflex start offer Since 2010, i-StARS offers the coasting and reflex start features for limited vehicle speeds: ●● <20km/h for manual transmissions ●● <8 km/h for automatic transmissions Starting in 2017, i-StARS GEN3 offers the coasting feature with a higher speed: ●● up to 120 km/h for automatic transmissions

Engine-Off coasting is monitored and can be followed by an automatic engine restart on the move : ●● if required to drive in secure and comfortable conditions (braking assistance level too low, battery state of charge too low, cabin comfort demand etc..) ●● if the driver decides to engage a gear or reaccelerate, this case is called the reflex start.

The coasting feature requires the machine to support much more cycles, basically 1,000,000 cycles instead of 600,000 for a conventional i-StARS.
